Kingfisher Ok Candidate Speak at 4th of July Celebration

Due to inclement weather all of Kingfisher, OK 4th of July Celebrations were canceled.

Kingfisher Chamber of Commerce will be hosting “The Candidate Speaks” on July 5th from 2 to 4 pm in Kingfisher Park as a part of our Independence Day Celebration.

State Representative Mike Sanders has graciously agreed to kick off this event with a few words. The candidates will have 5 minutes to speak with a few minutes at the end for questions & answers. We will have a moderator & timekeeper, Jerry Copeland & Bill Naifeh have agreed to do this for us. We will attempt to schedule the speakers, however we do realize that some of them may have other events to attend and we ask everyone to be flexible. The Q&A will be brief. Jerry Copeland has moderated these types of events before and will handle it nicely.

2:05 p.m – Mary Fallin for Governor – 2 Star General Rita Aragon will represent Senator Fallin as a surrogate speaker.

All of these candidates are going to be in our Independence Day Parade which begins at 10a.m. downtown Kingfisher, as well as have a table or booth in the park all day to meet and greet. it’s a great opportunity to discuss the upcoming election and hear what these candidates have to say.

Parade Marshals are WWII Veterans, 87 year old, Ed Bray, who was a part of the D Day Normandy invasion. Also military men and women of the current wars in Iraq & Afghanistan. We are privileged to honor these people as our Parade Marshals.

The Chamber and the City of Kingfisher have a full day of activities planned, including:

A Quilt show “Quilted Love Letters for America” from noon to 4pm.

Pictures with Santa Claus to benefit Kingfisher In Lights

Little Miss & Mr. Firecracker pageant at 12:30 pm in the park

Free Fire Truck Rides all afternoon and Firefighters Dunk Tank

Free Miniature Train Rides from 11am to 2 pm

Free Swimming from noon to 4

Free Jumps of Fun Inflatables

Pony Rides

Carriage Rides

Games for kids

Tons of great food

At 7:30 a concert with “PRIME TIME” playing music of the 60’s, 70’s & 80’s will be held in the ballpark. Immediately following will be Spectacular Fireworks.
